Social Responsibility in Our Community
Cooperatives across the globe, regardless of the industry, follow seven principles in how they operate. Georgia System Operations Corporation, created under the cooperative business model, is no different.
For us, one of the most important is Cooperative Principle #7:
Concern for Community
As a member of the electric utility industry, Georgia System Operations Corporation exists to support our communities by lighting them up. But we don’t stop there. We support our employees as socially responsible community members through volunteerism.

Our corporate volunteer program, PowerAid, gives employees 16 hours each year for volunteering. Georgia System Operations Corporation also hosts group projects in support of our community. From building homes for our neighbors through Habitat for Humanity to preparing food at the local Ronald McDonald house and bringing Christmas to local children whose families might otherwise be deprived and more as the need arises.
