Supervisor, Physical Security Operations Center
Duties
- Supervises the Physical Security Operations Center PSOC which is responsible for all aspects of operational security performance including monitoring and response to physical security alarm systems, surveillance equipment, notification systems, life-safety systems, and other systems or performing walkdowns as required. Also maintains critical processes in support of NERC CIP compliance for GTC, GSOC, and OPC.
- Responsible for the PSOC team's response to security threats and security incidents including the coordination and support of escalated security activities with internal staff and external resources including federal, state, and local law enforcement.
- Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of security operations processes executed by the PSOC team.
- Regular reporting on Metrics and Status to ensure leadership maintains situational awareness.
- Maintains personnel schedules to support current operational needs and ensure continuous 24x7x365 onsite staffing.
- Provides leadership and support during activation of Conservative Operations, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and the Security Incident Response and Recovery Plans.
- Supports the selection and development of highly qualified and motivated associates for 24/7 operations. Ensures all necessary performance evaluations, coaching, training, developmental support, associate relations, timesheet and other administrative approval, and conflict resolution work are done in a satisfactory and timely manner.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, engineering, law enforcement, or security related field
- 8 years of experience with progression in responsibility in the areas of physical security, law enforcement, military, or related field
Equivalent education and experience
- Associates degree in related security, law enforcement, military, or business-related field with 10 years of experience in a related field with progression in responsibility, as stated above
- 12 years of experience as stated above, with 4 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or leadership role
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
All positions must obtain and maintain Bulk Electric System Cyber Authorized Status as defined in GSOC's CIP Cyber Security Policy 301 and NERC Reliability Standard CIP 004 - Personnel Risk Assessment. GSOC provided.
Preferred industry certifications include:
PSP - Physical Security Professional
PSC - Physical Security Certification
CPP - Certified Protection Professional
